YOUNG ISLAND is ideally located to explore the erstwhile Tipu's Srirangapatna, which is only 3 kms. Rangantittu – One of India's well know bird Sanctuary is the home of exotic tropical birds. Birds as far away as Siberia come here every year and is 3 kms. Mysore – also called as “The jasmine city” and capital of erstwhile Mysore State is only 12 kms for one to explore the palaces, monuments and old architectural wonders.
Accommodation : Over looking the river are the cottages with ethnic luxury and ambience blended beautifully with village type exteriors and interiors. The breath taking sunrise-sunset across the river with birds dotting the twilight sky, are memories one can never forget.
FIRE & ICE - The BAR & RESTAURANT: Quench your thirst with the choicest of liquor, wine, cocktails and mock tails, only to gulp our mouth watering Kabab, melting Biriyani and our special day menu in the evening.
PURPLE HERON - The OPEN AIR BAR. Nestled among the coconut trees with fresh sugarcane wind blowing, is the place to sip your favorite drink.
RIVER TERN – The Barbeque. Perfectly located on the river side is our week end barbeque with campfire, and the sit out is ideal for all kinds of get together or party's.

CYCLING: We promote and encourage guest's to use our in house bi-cycles on their return trip to Rangantittu, which is only 3 kms (one way) from Young Island. This is tune with our ECO FRIENDLY concept to promote one of India's well know bird sanctuaries.

HOW TO GET THERE
AIR - The nearest airport is at Bangalore (112 km). Bangalore, is well connected by air to all major cities in India like Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Goa and more. International flights to and from other major international cities operate from Bangalore.
RAIL- Yet again the best route to connect to Mysore by rail is via Bangalore. Bangalore has four express trains daily to and from Mysore. The Shatabdi Express connects Mysore with Chennai. Mysore Railway Station Located on J L B Road, northwest of the city centre, is just 12 km from our resorts.
ROAD - Connected by state highways, which in turn connect to national highways leading to and from all major cities in the country. We are located just 3 kms from Srirangapatna. Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and private bus corporations operate deluxe and regular buses to Srirangapattana from Bangalore (112 km).

SRIRANGAPATNA Just 2 kms from Young Island Resorts. Srirangapatna is an island town encircled by river Cauvery. The temple of Lord Sriranganatha is said to have been built by the Chieftain Thirumalaiah in 894 AD. This was once the capital of Hyderali & his son Tippu Sultan, "The Tiger of Mysore". In the 18 th century, Marathas attacked Srirangapatna & forced heavy payments. Hyder drew back the Marathas & saved the Kingdom. In 1799 Tippu fought a fierce Battle (Battle of Mysore) against the British & fell bravely defending his capital.
RANGANATHITTU Just 4 Kms from Young Island Resorts and 18 Kms from Mysore. Rangathittu is a bird sanctuary that houses exotic birds. Birds from as far away as Siberia and even North America make their home here. Crocodiles basking in the sun is also a familiar sight. The best season to visit is between January and March.
MYSORE Just 12 kms from Young Island Resorts. A cheerful city with many admirers, blessed with easygoing charm, salubrious climate, thriving trade and a rich heritage.Yaduraya, the first of the Wodeyars, came to Hadinadu (Mysore as it was known then) in 1399 AD. The city did not reach any dizzying heights during his reign. However, under the aegis of Chamaraja III, the city took shape and many of its monuments were built.
SOMANTHAPUR 45 Kms east is this famous village which has the 13th century Hoysala Temple. The temple is in excellent condition has frescoed exteriors with episodes from the epics.
WEATHER Young Island Resorts situated close to Rangantittu/Srirangapatna, as a pleasant weather throughout the year, because of its altitude, it enjoys a wonderful climate all year round, you're more likely to find good weather here, on any given day. The climate is pleasant most of the time, and registers normal temperature between 19ºC and 30ºC. rnrnYoung Island which is close only 12 kms from Mysore is at 770m above sea level and 112 kms from Bangalore. It enjoys three distinct climates varying with the seasons. Winter season from January to February Summer season from March to May October to December forms the post-monsoon season.
