About Bandipura:-Bandipura national Park is surrounded by Nagarahole , Madumalai and Wynad Wildlife sanctuaries, which together constitute India's first Biosphere Reserve, which is about 5000 sq km.
880 sq km Bandipura national Park was one among first Project Tiger Reserve. Since 1973, population of Tigers has increased in numbers since “project tiger” implementation. The jungle towards the eastern side consists of stunted trees with bushes and open grassy patches with a shift in the Vegetation from dry deciduous to tropical mixed deciduous forest which supports enormous activities of animal life.
Hulikadu Bandipura is a visual poetry after pre monsoon showers, with residential birds breeding activities, melodious calls of birds, grasses sprouting in the meadows with the vivid wild calls. Elephants, sambar, spotted deer, jungle fowl, and peacock are the common features. Tigers, leopard cat, gaur, and spotted cat to name a few are the guest to appear for which wait is worth. Over 220 species of birds are identified in Bandipura.
Himavad Gopalaswamy Hills, part of Bandipura national Park, which is just 15 kms from the guesthouse, is crowning glory of Bandipura Tiger reserve.
General Information:- Jungle Safari (jeep ride per person Rs 75) start and ends at Bandipura national Park Reception area which is 3 kms from the guest House.
Trekking will be organized if informed well in advance.
Audio, Video, plastics and other electronic gadgets that may cause pollution are strictly banned. Kindly Co-operate.
Personal Medical Kit has to be brought by the visitors, as the nearest Medical Store is 20 kms from the guesthouse. (FIRST-AID kit and commonly used medicines are available in the guest house)
The Jungle is vast and nobody has control over the movement of the animals.Hence sight of wild life is purely on one's luck.
Nearest Petrol Pump and Service Station, Banks, Hospital is in Gundlupet, which is 20 kms from the guesthouse.
NOTE: Tea, Coffee, Vegetarian Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner will be served with snacks. Please avoid Non-Vegetarian food.
