ATTRACTIONS AND EVENTS
Mysore Palace
A stunning example of the Indo-Saracenic architecture style, the Mysore Palace is one of India�s most spectacular national monuments. The erstwhile seat of the famous Maharajas of Mysore, today the palace is a museum housing treasures from across the world.

Chamundeshwari Temple
Dating back to the twelfth century, the Chamundeshwari Temple majestically stands on a hill overlooking the city. The highlight of the temple is its pyramidal gopura (gateway tower). Other interesting features are a colourful statue of the demon Mahishasura and an imposing five metre Nandi or bull carved out of single block of black granite.

Ranganthittu
Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, 20km from Mysore, is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Located on the Cauvery River, the sanctuary is home to some of the most exotic bird species in the world as well as marsh crocodils and other wildlife.

Mysore Zoo
Established under royal patronage in 1892, Mysore Zoo is an integral part of the city. The zoo houses a variety of species from more than 40 different countries including Branary sheep, giraffe, hippos and gorillas.
