Hotel Editorial Review

By the Hotel

Manali named after Manu rishi, is a valley located at an alluring height of 1926 meters. It is surrounded by the mighty Himalayan ranges. Described as the end of the "habitable world", by Penelope Chetwood, in her best seller on the Kullu valley. The author passionately describes Manali as an "emerald oasis in the midst of a sea of gigantic mountains and cold deserts". It is like the last flicker of nature's magical display of life energy in terms of its natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage. Popularly known as the valley of gods with its mystical traditions of shamanism, its practising ancient Hindu rituals, its unique festivals replete with folk dance and music, it offers a unique holiday experience.

Swift and gentle rivers, thick forests, snow capped peaks and the rich Himalayan flora and fauna in Manali, make it a paradise for the nature lover. Adventure sports is a well organized and safe activity carried out under the supervision of well trained and experienced guides and instructors.

River Rafting down the rapid of the river Beas can be a thrilling, roller coasting experience.

Para Gliding from the valley is one of the most exciting sports.

Skiing is a fun sport and can usually be enjoyed all through the year.

Trout Fishing is a pleasurable activity amidst the serene surroundings of various rivers in the secluded valleys.

Treks and Nature Walks to ancient temple, lake and mystical water falls, in and around the valley, can be a rejuvenating experience.

Rohtang Pass is an exhilarating drive with spectacular view of the gigantic mountains.

Cultural Tour in Manali provides a gourmet treat for the culture lover. The tour includes a visit to the Hadimba temple which was built in the 15th century, and dedicated to goddess Hadimba. You can pay a visit to the Vashisht Rishi temple, the Manu Rishi temple, different Gompas, the Roerich Art gallery, the Palace at Naggar and various sulphur springs in the valley.

With over a hundred years of experience in the hospitality industry, the Banon family now offers to you a luxurious, centrally heated resort, inimitable in architecture, style and comfort, blending gracefully into the local environment. Designed by one of India's leading architects, Ram Sharma, the Resort is built over 2 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens.

The climate in Manali is very pleasant all through the year except during the winter when night temperatures may drop below zero degree Celsius. Springtime, beginning in March and lasting through April, brings to the valley blossoms, flowers and butterflies - offering a completely rejuvenating experience.

The summers beginning in the month of May, normally lasts through the month of June. It is a time when every body wishes to be in Manali. The maximum temperature during the summer barely touches 26 degrees centigrade towards the end of June. Manali is lush green and vibrant during the monsoons, beginning in July, and usually continues till the end of August. It is a time when the valley bustles with a variety of global tourists and trekkers.

Monsoons can be romantic with the mist flowing into your rooms. You can enjoy the gentle tapping of rain drops on the roof and get drenched in the rains. Another fine time to be in Manali is during September/October and November with autumn colors in the air. This is the time for the colorful Kullu Dusshera in which 365 gods and goddesses of the valley assemble at Dhalpur.
